The Mets with their backs against the wall send David Cone (20-3 2.33 Grade 19XZ) to the mound against Tim Leary (17-11 2.91 Grade 14XZ).   The Mets would come out and grab a quick lead as they get 2 on the board in the top of the 1st. Lenny Dykstra singles and steals second, Keith Hernandez singles in Dykstra, and Darryl Strawberry triples high off the right center field wall. Leary would get out of the inning with no more damage when Kirk Gibson throws out Strawberry at the plate. Cone was in complete control getting strikeouts, and ground balls when he needs it. Huge Game 5 from Shea with the series tied 2-2 has a pitching matchup of Tim Belcher (12-6 2.91 Grade 12XZ) vs Sid Fernandez (12-10 3.03 Grade 12XY).   In the top of the 2nd the Dodgers get to Fernandez. John Shelby would double to left center and Rick Dempsey would single him home. After a 2 out walk to Alfredo Griffin, Belcher would square up a Fernandez fast ball hit a huge 2 run double.
