Game 3 – 1978 Tournament Replay Blue Jays VS Mariners

game 3

Game 3 saw Toronto fighting for its tournament life and starting Jim Clancy. Clancy could not stop the hot Seattle offense as Seattle plated 5 runs in the first 5 innings. Toronto also added 3 runs in the fifth aided by John Mayberry’s homer to right. The big blow came when Craig Reynolds launched his second homer of the series in the 6th. The 3 run shot put the game out of reach and the Mariners into the next round where they will match up with the 16 seed Montreal Expos. Those two teams will play to see who will play in the sweet sixteen round.
