Game 6 – 1978 Tournament Replay Mets vs Red Sox

Back to Fenway for Game 6 and the Red Sox send Mike Torrez (16-13 3.96 Grade 8) to the mound. Mets counter with Grade A pitcher Craig Swan (9-6 2.43 Grade 16).

The Red Sox would take control of Game 6 by scoring single runs in each of the first four innings. Jim Rice once again homers in the bottom of the first. Butch Hobson hits a solo homer in the second. Carlton Fisk and Jerry Remy also with big RBI hits. The Mets would get a run in the 4th but not get a runner past 1st base the rest of the game. Bob Stanley would come in and get the last 6 outs and the Red Sox win the game 4-1 and the series 4-2.
