Game 2 – 1978 Tournament Replay Mets vs Braves

The Mets come into Game 2 having taken home field advantage with a 10-7 win in game 1.

Game 2 starters are Craig Swan (9-6 2.43 Grade 16) for the Mets versus Preston Hanna (7-13 5.13 Grade 1) for the Braves.

The Mets ended this game before the Braves even got to bat with a 7 run first inning. The Mets had 8 hits including 7 singles. By the time Hanna got the third out this game was in complete Met control. The Braves would add a homer by Dale Murphy in the second but it was too little way to late. The Mets would go onto to add a couple of more runs including a solo shot by John Stearns. Swan would take care of the rest for a complete game a commanding 2-0 lead in the series.
