Cleveland in the hole 1-0 sends Rick Wise (9-19 4.34 Grade 5) to the mound countered by Ken Kravec (11-16 4.08 Grade 6) for the Sox. Both teams brought the bats for this one as Chicago opened the scoring with a 3 spot in the bottom of the 2nd. With the score 5-2 in the top of the 5th the Indians score 2 courtesy of a long 2 run homer by catcher Gary Alexander. The Indians would finally take the lead with 2 more in the 6th to take a 6-5 advantage. The lead would be short lived as the White Sox would scratch out a run in the 7th off Indians reliever Sid Monge. Both teams had chances to score again in regulation but didn’t and the game would go to extras. It would stay 6-6 until Eric Soderholm hits a walk off 2 run homer with one out in the 12th off Dan Spillner. White Sox take a commanding 2-0 lead as we head to Cleveland Stadium.
