Game 3 – 1978 Tournament Replay White Sox vs Tigers

Game 3 with the series tied and back to old Comiskey. Tigers send Dave Rozema (9-12 3.14 Grade 12) to the mound against Francisco Barrios (9-15 4.15 Grade 6). This game started with some sense of normalcy as the score was 0-0 through 3 innings. That quickly changed as the Tigers would score 3 in the 4th inning and 4 in the 5th inning to take a commanding 7-0 lead. Big hits by Rusty Staub and Alan Trammell lead the way. White Sox answer with 2 of their own including courtesy of another homer from Wayne Nordhagen. The 8th would see Ron LeFlore hit another homer in this series, this one a two run shot to put the game over sign up. Rozema goes 8 strong and the Tigers win 9-5 to take the edge in the series 2-1.
