Game 3 – 1978 Tournament Replay Yankees vs Expos

We are at Stade Olympique for Game 3 with the Yanks taking the first 2. The Yankees send Dick Tidrow (7-11 3.84 Grade 6) to the mound opposite Steve Rogers (13-10 2.47 Grade 16) for the Expos.

The Yankees jump on the ace pitcher right out of the gate, getting RBI singles from Lou Piniella and Reggie Jackson. The Expos answer right back getting 3 runs off Tidrow via a 3 run homer by Larry Parrish. The Expos had a 3-2 lead that would stay that way until the 6th. The 6th saw the Yankees get 2 runs to get the lead back. The would knock Rogers out of the game and get 4 more in the 7th, Mickey Rivers delivering the game clinching blow with a 3 run homer to right. Yankees take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series.
