The Yankees jump on the ace pitcher right out of the gate, getting RBI singles from Lou Piniella and Reggie Jackson. The Expos answer right back getting 3 runs off Tidrow via a 3 run homer by Larry Parrish. The Expos had a 3-2 lead that would stay that way until the 6th. The 6th saw the Yankees get 2 runs to get the lead back. The would knock Rogers out of the game and get 4 more in the 7th, Mickey Rivers delivering the game clinching blow with a 3 run homer to right. Yankees take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series.
