The Giants looking to even the series sends lefty Vida Blue (18-10 2.79 Grade 15) to the bump opposite Dick Ruthven (13-5 2.99 Grade 12) for the Phillies.

Just as with Game 1 this one belonged to the pitchers. The get a run in the 2nd when Richie Hebner goes for a triple to drive in Greg Luzinski. In the 4th they would scratch another run with some ABC baseball. That would be the only scoring of the games as Ruthven would throw a 4 hit shutout. The Phillies win 2-0 despite just 2 hits in the game and lead the series 2-0.
