Red Sox beat the Mets 4 games to 2 in this Sweet 16 matchup. Game 1 - Red Sox 1, Mets 0 Game 2 - Red Sox 3, Mets 0 Game 3 - Mets 6, Red Sox 5 Game 4 - Red Sox 3, Mets 2 Game 5 - Mets 1, Red Sox 0 Game 6 - Red Sox 4, Mets 1 Series MVP: Jerry Koosman 1 win 0 losses 19 IP, no runs, 9 hits, and 16K's. I know the Mets lost but that stat line is crazy against the Red Sox offense.

Back to Fenway for Game 6 and the Red Sox send Mike Torrez (16-13 3.96 Grade 8) to the mound. Mets counter with Grade A pitcher Craig Swan (9-6 2.43 Grade 16). Could this game hold up to the classic game 1 from these two teams and pitchers. Almost.... The Mets would get a run in the second as an error by Carl Yastrzemski allows John Stearns to score. The Red Sox would come out quick as Jim Rice would drive in 2 runs with a base hit in the first to give the Red Sox a quick 2-0 lead.
