Game 4 – 1978 Tournament Replay Royals vs Rangers

Game 4, with the Royals leading 2-1, features Rich Gale (14-8 3.09 Grade 12) vs Doc Medich (9-8 3.74 Grade 6).

One pitch, 1-0 Royals, as George Brett lines the first pitch of the game over the center field wall for a quick 1-0 lead. The Royals would add 2 more in the 2nd, sac fly by Frank White and another RBI from Brett. Al Oliver would get a run back in the 2nd as he lines an opposite field homer to make it 3-1 Royals.

The Royals would put the game away with 1 run in the 4th, 2 runs in the 5th and 6th. Hal McRae going big fly in the 6th for his first homer of this tournament. Gale would do the rest as he would go the distance only allowing the one run. Royals lead the series 3-1.
