Game 6 has the Rangers sending Fergie Jenkins (18-8 3.04 Grade 14) against Paul Splitorff (19-13 3.40 Grade 13).
What a game 6! Royals strike first with 2 in the bottom of the third. Hal McRae and Al Cowens getting clutch RBI hits. The Rangers would answer immediately in the top half of the 4th. Al Oliver triples and Richie Zisk sends another homer out to left to tie the game.
Score would remain 2-2 until the top half of the 7th when Texas would gain the lead via 2 RBI single by Burt Campaneris. With the score 3-2 in the 7th and with 2 outs the Royals would take the lead. Hal McRae singles to left and then Amos Otis lines a homer to left to give the Royals the lead.
With the score 4-3 in the top of the ninth the Royals bring in Al Hrabosky to close the game. Toby Harrah would double to give the Rangers hope. With 2 outs Mike Hargrove lined a single to right and Amos Otis shoots down Harrah to win the game and the series. What an ending! Royals win the series 4-2.
