Game 4 – 1978 Tournament Replay Red Sox vs Orioles

Must win Game 4 for the Orioles has a pitching matchup of Mike Torrez (16-13 3.96 Grade 8) for the Red Sox and Jim Palmer (21-12 2.46 Grade 18) for the Orioles.

The Orioles would dent the scoreboard first with a run in the 3rd inning. The Red Sox would come right back and get 3 in the 4th as Butch Hobson lines a 3 run homer off Palmer. The Orioles would get a run back on the 5th as Rick Dempsey would hit a solo homer. In the top of the 6th Carl Yastrzemski hits a solo homer. The Orioles would tie the game up with 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th. Ken Singleton and Dempsey with RBI.

The top half of the 7th has the Sox putting the series away. George Scott would triple home Dwight Evans and Rick Burleson would bring home Scott. The Red Sox would add 2 more in the ninth to take the series 4-0.
