Game 5 – 1978 Tournament Replay Yankees vs Brewers

Must win Game 5 for the Brewers and they send Lary Sorensen (18-12 3.21 Grade 14) to the mound versus all world Ron Guidry (25-3 1.74 Grade 24).

Yankees trying to finish this series off an go to the finals score first. Ben Oglivie error allows Willie Randolph to score. The Brewers would answer as they get an RBI from Cecil Cooper in the bottom half. The Yankees would get the inning they were looking for and it once again came from the bat of Reggie Jackson. Jackson takes a Sorensen pitch over the wall in right for a 3 run homer in the 3rd.

The Brewers would try chipping away scoring another run in the 3rd. Sal Bando with the big RBI hit. The would get another in the 6th as Cooper again would get an RBI hit off Guidry. Guidry would get the last 9 outs in order though and finish this series off. Yankees win 4-3 and take the series 4-1.
