Game 2 – 1985 Tournament Replay Orioles vs Dodgers

Orioles looking to take both in Los Angeles send Mike Boddicker (12-17 4.07 Grade 6Y) to the mound against Orel Hershiser (19-3 2.03 Grade 20YZ).

 

Dodgers give the ball to Hershiser to get the series even but the Orioles again would get the long ball going. Gary Roenicke would line his THIRD homer of the series to lead off the 2nd to give the Orioles a 1-0 lead. The Dodgers would finally dent the scoreboard scoring 3 off Boddicker in the 4th. Steve Sax with a RBI and Ken Landreaux with a 2 RBI double.

 

The score would remain 3-1 Dodgers and Hershiser in cruise control until the 7th. Mike Young would single then Wayne Gross would hit a pinch hit 2 run homer to tie the game. In the 8th Lee Lacy would double to lead off the inning and get brought in via 2 out single by Floyd Rayford. The Dodgers now down 4-3 would tie it up in the bottom half. Mike Scioscia with a huge 2 out double to score Greg Brock. With the score 4-4 in the bottom of the 9th the Dodgers would get a walk to Sax, Landreaux would single him to third and Pedro Guerrero would win in the game for the Dodgers with a single to center. Huge comeback win for the Dodgers and the series is tied 1-1.

 

Final Score: Dodgers 5, Orioles 4
