Game 5 – 1985 Tournament Replay Dodgers vs Orioles

Series tied 2-2 here in Baltimore as the Orioles start Scott McGregor (14-14 4.81 Grade 5Z), while the Dodgers start Fernando Valenzuela (17-10 2.45 Grade 19X).

 

The Orioles strike first off Valenzuela as Gary Roenicke singles home Alan Wiggins in the first for a quick 1-0 lead. The Dodgers would answer back in a huge way in the 5th. Mike Scioscia would double home a run, Pedro Guerrero would single home 2, and Bill Madlock would double home 2 more to give the Dodgers a 5-1 lead. The Dodgers would keep coming, scoring 2 more in the 5th as Mariano Duncan would provide the big hit.

 

The Orioles would try to get back in the game in the 6th as they would plate 2 runs on a 2 run homer from Floyd Rayford. Valenzuela would not allow another base runner the rest of the game for the complete game win and a 3-2 series advantage.

 

Final Score: Dodgers 8, Orioles 3
