Game 3 – 1985 Tournament Replay Cardinals at White Sox

Back to Chicago for Game 3 and the White Sox send lefty Floyd Bannister (10-14 4.87 Grade 3XL) to the mound and the Cardinals send Bob Forsch (9-6 3.40 Grade 4Z).

 

The Cardinals up 2-0 in the series continue to put the heat on by scoring first in the 3rd inning as Willie McGee hits a sac fly to score Vince Coleman. In the 4th they would add two more, Darrell Porter with a RBI double and Ozzie Smith added a RBI single. The Cardinals would add 2 more in the 6th to take a 5-0 lead. The White Sox would try to drum up a rally in the 7th as Rudy Law would single in Luis Salazar, but Forsch would stop the rally. The Cards bullpen would take care of the rest and the Cardinals now have a commanding 3-0 series lead.

 

Final Score: Cardinals 5, White Sox 1
