The Astros keep the series alive by winning Game 4 and send Nolan Ryan (10-12 3.80 Grade 10XG) to the mound against lefty Jerry Reuss (14-10 2.92 Grade 14Z) for LA.
The Astros again get the lead as they score 3 big runs in the 2nd. After a single by Phil Garner and double by Alan Ashby, Jerry Mumphrey would line a Reuss fastball over the fence in left. The Dodgers would get a run back in the 3rd as Mike Marshall would hit a sac fly. In the 5th the Dodgers would tie the game up as Mike Scioscia would triple in Mariano Duncan and Ryan would balk in Scioscia.
With the score 3-3 the Astros would bust the game wide open with 5 runs int he 7th. 3 of the runs would come off the bat of Alan Ashby as he would homer off Carlos Diaz. 2 errors by Steve Sax also contributed to the big inning. Jeff Calhoun and Bill Dawley would take care of the rest for the Astros and we have ourselves a series.
