Game 2 – 1985 Tournament Replay Expos @ Blue Jays

Blue Jays win Game 1 and they send Jim Clancy (9-6 3.78 Grade 5ZG) to the mound against Montreal ace Bryn Smith (18-5 2.91 Grade 14YZ).

 

The Blue Jays once again would come out fast and once again get 3 in the 1st. Rance Mulliniks would double in 2 runs and Willie Upshaw would double in Mulliniks. They would add a run in the 2nd as Damaso Garcia would sac fly Jesse Barfield in. Clancy would not give up any runs through 5 but the Expos would get 2 runs in the 6th highlighted by a homer by Tim Raines to make it 4-2 Blue Jays.

 

In the 7th the Expos would get a run closer as Mike Fitzgerald would take the Clancy offering over the wall in left. With the Expos within a run the Blue Jays would put the game away in the bottom half. They would score 5 times including another 3 run homer by Lloyd Moseby. The Blue Jays bullpen would hold down the fort after that and the Blue Jays have a 10-3 win and a 2-0 series advantage.
