Dodgers take both in St. Louis and start veteran lefty Jerry Reuss (14-10 2.92 Grade 14Z) while the Cardinals turn to Bob Forsch (9-6 3.90 Grade 4Z).
The Cardinals do exactly what they need to do being down 2-0 in the series. They come out and get 5 runs. The Dodgers would help them with error from Steve Sax and Mariano Duncan. Terry Pendleton and Darrell Porter deliver big RBI hits. With the score 5-0 before they can even bat the Dodgers would get a run of their own as Greg Brock would single in Mike Marshall. The Cardinals would get that run back as well as another as Willie McGee would line a homer to left-center off Reuss.
The Dodgers would get a run in the 3rd to make it 7-2 as Brock would single in another run. Dodgers would get another run in the 6th as Pedro Guerrero would line a homer to center. That would be all the Dodgers could do with the bats as Ken Dayley and Jeff Lahti would come in for the last 4 innings to complete the win. Huge victory for the Cardinals as they are right back in the series.
