The Dodgers trying to go up 2-0 in the series send Tim Belcher (12-6 2.91 Grade XZG) to the hill opposite David Cone (20-3 2.22 Grade 19XZG).   The Mets would strike first again as they get 2 runs in the 2nd. Kevin McReynolds doubles in Darryl Strawberry and Cone would help himself with a sac fly to right to score McReynolds. Pitchers would keep them scoreless from there until the 6th when the Mets would get an insurance run. Strawberry lines a single to right and Gregg Jefferies scores just under the tag of Scioscia.   Cone kept throwing 0's on the board and in the 9th the Mets would get another run when Howard Johnson would like a homer down the right field line to make it 4-0.…

The NLCS features the New York Mets (100-60) winners of the NL East versus the Los Angeles Dodgers (94-67) winners of the NL West. The Mets send Dwight Gooden (18-9 3.19 Grade 14YZG)  to the mound against Cy Young winner Orel Hershiser (23-8 2.26 Grade 19 YZ).   The Dodgers would come out and grab the early lead with a run in the 1st as Frankin Stubbs would single in Steve Sax. In the 2nd they would score 3 off Gooden to open up a 4-0 lead. Big 2 out run scoring hits by Stubbs and Kirk Gibson the big blows. Winner take all and a trip to the World Series from Fenway Park. Starting pitchers are Dave Stewart (21-12 3.23 Grade 15YG) for the A's vs Bruce Hurst (18-6 3.66 Grade 11YZ) for the Red Sox.   The A's get on the board first in the 2nd as Mike Gallego lines a single to right center to score Stan Javier. The Red Sox would answer in a big way on the bottom half as they plate 4 runs and bat around. Big run scoring hits by Rich Gedman and Ellis Burks lead the way. Red Sox get the series back to Fenway and send Mike Boddicker (13-15 3.39 Grade 13YZ) to the mound against Bob Welch (17-9 3.64 Grade 11YZ).   The A's would strike first as with 2 outs in the 1st Jose Canseco would take Boddicker over the Green Monster for a quick 1-0 lead. Welch and Boddicker would be in complete control for the next 5 innings as we would still be 1-0 heading to the bottom of the 6th. The Red Sox would bar around and score 3 runs off Welch.
