Another really good game! Game 3 features a starting matchup of Mike Boddicker (13-15 3.39 Grade 13YZ) vs Bob Welch (17-9 3.64 Grade 11YZ).   Welch and Boddicker keep the bats under control for the first 3 innings. In the bottom of the 4th the A's break through against Boddicker. Carney Lansford would single up the middle and Dave Henderson would line a 2 run homer down the left field line. Red Sox take Game 1 and send Roger Clemens (18-12 2.93 Grade 15XYZG) to the mound against Storm Davis (16-7 3.70 Grade 10Y).   Davis and Clemens are in complete control as we go scoreless through 4 innings. In the 5th the Red Sox would scratch across a run as Jody Reed would single to lead off, Rich Gedman would lay down the sacrifice and Wade Boggs would single to left center to drive him in. In the 7th they would one again use A-B-C baseball to get a run. Big time matchup in this ALCS between the Western Division Champion Oakland A's (104-58) and the Eastern Division Champion Boston Red Sox (89-73).   Game 1's pitching matchup is Dave Stewart (20-13 3.68 Grade 15Y) for the A's versus Bruce Hurst (18-6 3.66 Grade 11YZ) for the Red Sox. The A's would come out of the gate and grab the lead in the first as Jose Canseco would double to left and Mark McGwire would single up the middle to bring him home.
