The Pirates now up 2-1 in the series send Jim Bibby (12-4 2.81 Grade 10YZ) to the mound against Dennis Martinez (15-16 3.66 Grade 12Z).   The Pirates take the quick lead in the 1st as Dave Parker grounds into a double play but Omar Moreno would score. In the 3rd, Moreno would once again would score on a sac fly from Willie Stargell. The Pirates would add more runs to their lead, this time 2 runs in the 5th. Parker would double in Moreno and Tim Foli to make it 4-0.   Bibby was locked in the whole game. He would allow only 5 hits and no runs while striking out 5 batters. Pitching matchup is Scott McGregor (13-6 3.35 Grade 10Z) for the Orioles and John Candelaria (14-9 3.22 Grade 12Z).   The Orioles waste no time against Candelaria as they get 2 quick runs off the left hander. A walk to Kiko Garcia and a 2 out, 2 run homer by Eddie Murray accounting for the runs. World Series Game 2 with the Pirates ahead 1-0 has a pitching matchup of Bert Blyleven (12-5 3.60 Grade 11Y) for the Pirates and Jim Palmer (10-6 3.30 Grade 9z).   The Orioles would get their first lead of the series with a run in the 2nd. 2 out double by Rick Dempsey scores John Lowenstein. World Series Game 1 in a rematch of the actual World Series between the Baltimore Orioles and Pittsburgh Pirates. The 1979 series will be played under National League rules so no DH.   Game 1 pitching matchup is Bruce Kison (13-7 3.19 Grade 10YZ) for the Pirates and Mike Flanagan (23-9 Grade 15YZ) for the Orioles. Pitchers are in control of the game early as Kison and Flanagan match 0's through 2 innings. The Orioles and Pirates won their respective LCS as they did in 1979 so they will meet in a rematch. The actual 1979 World Series went 7 games and lets hope this series is as exciting or more so. Since there was 4 days in between the LCS and the World Series I am going to use the exact rotations the teams used in 1979.   Game 1 will be Sunday night 7/1 at 8PM EST.
