We are right in the middle of our 1978 Tournament replay and it has been a blast. It is shaping up to have some exciting match ups as we move towards the final four and an eventual champion. It is time to prepare for our first playoff replay. In these replays we will take the actual division winners and play it off. So an NLCS and an ALCS and a World Series. Winner take all Game 5 pits a rematch of Game 1 starters Pat Zachry (10-6 3.33 Grade 8) vs Rick Reuschel (14-15 3.41 Grade 12). Pitchers would be in control early even though the Cubs would strand 6 runners through the first 4 innings. This would haunt them as the Mets would plate single runs in the 4th and the 5th. The Cubs would strike first with RBI single by Bobby Murcer. Bill Buckner added a RBI double in the 3rd and Ivan DeJesus added a sac fly RBI in the 4th. The Mets would finally add a run off Burris in the 4th, but the Cubs strike back with single runs in the 5th and the 6th.
