Winner take all for the World Series. The Mets send Ron Darling (17-9 3.25 Grade 13YZ) to the hill against Orel Hershiser (23-8 2.26 Grade 19YZ).   This whole series has been pitched real good and this game was no exception. The score was 0-0 until the 3rd when the Dodgers would get a huge 2 out RBI by Kirk Gibson scoring Steve Sax. The Mets would get runners on in the 4th and 5th and Hershiser would induce double play ground balls in both innings. The Mets with their backs against the wall send David Cone (20-3 2.33 Grade 19XZ) to the mound against Tim Leary (17-11 2.91 Grade 14XZ).   The Mets would come out and grab a quick lead as they get 2 on the board in the top of the 1st. Lenny Dykstra singles and steals second, Keith Hernandez singles in Dykstra, and Darryl Strawberry triples high off the right center field wall. Leary would get out of the inning with no more damage when Kirk Gibson throws out Strawberry at the plate. Cone was in complete control getting strikeouts, and ground balls when he needs it. Huge Game 5 from Shea with the series tied 2-2 has a pitching matchup of Tim Belcher (12-6 2.91 Grade 12XZ) vs Sid Fernandez (12-10 3.03 Grade 12XY).   In the top of the 2nd the Dodgers get to Fernandez. John Shelby would double to left center and Rick Dempsey would single him home. After a 2 out walk to Alfredo Griffin, Belcher would square up a Fernandez fast ball hit a huge 2 run double. Down 3-0 the Mets would get 2 on with no out in the 2nd, but Belcher would get the next three in a row. Game 4 with the Dodgers leading 2 games to 1 has a pitching matchup of John Tudor (10-8 2.32 Grade 16Z) for the Dodgers against Dwight Gooden (18-9 3.19 Grade 14YZ) for the Mets.   These two pitchers came out like it was 1985 when they totally dominated the National League and finished 1-2 in the Cy Young vote. Gooden allows only 2 hits through 6 innings. In the 7th the Mets would get a runner to 2nd as John Shelby would single and steal second base. We get a rain out day that allows the Dodgers to start Orel Hershiser (23-8 2.36 Grade 19 YZ) on  3 days rest against Ron Darling (17-9 3.25 Grade 13YZ).   The Dodgers would get to Darling early for a run as Mike Marshall would single in Kirk Gibson. In the bottom half the Mets would answer as Gregg Jefferies would double and Keith Hernandez would single him home. In the 2nd the Dodgers would get 2 unearned runs as a Wally Backman error allows Jeff Hamilton and Alfredo Griffin to score. The Dodgers trying to go up 2-0 in the series send Tim Belcher (12-6 2.91 Grade XZG) to the hill opposite David Cone (20-3 2.22 Grade 19XZG).   The Mets would strike first again as they get 2 runs in the 2nd. Kevin McReynolds doubles in Darryl Strawberry and Cone would help himself with a sac fly to right to score McReynolds. Pitchers would keep them scoreless from there until the 6th when the Mets would get an insurance run.
