Must win Game 3 for the Twins as they send Geoff Zahn (14-14 3.03 Grade 14) to the hill while the Angels start Chris Knapp (14-8 4.21 Grade 6). Twins get an early run in the first as Roy Smalley goes yard to give the Twins a lead. That lead would be short lived as the Angels get 3 in the second as Bobby Grich hits a huge 3 run homer to give the Angels the lead. Game 2 has Twins starter Roger Erickson (14-13 3.96 Grade 8) on the mound opposite strike out King Nolan Ryan (10-13 3.72). The Angels get on the board first with an 2 out RBI by Joe Rudi in the 1st. The Twins would quickly even the score with a run of their own in the second courtesy of a RBI double by Jose Morales. The Angels would get 2 runs in the 3rd and single runs in the 4th and 5th to take a 5-1 lead. That would be all Ryan would need as he goes the distance giving up only the one run on 6 hits while striking out 6. The Angels now lead the series 2-0 as we head back to Metropolitan Stadium. The Twins finished the regular season 73-89, 4th in the AL West. The Angels had a mark of 87-75, good enough for 2nd in the AL West. Game 1 had Minnesota sending Gary "Truth" Serum (9-9 4.10 Grade 5) to the mound against southpaw Frank Tanana (18-12 3.65 Grade 11). This figures to be a good series and Game 1 was a very good game.
