Mariners sweep the Blue Jays in this play in series. Game 1: Seattle 6 Toronto 0 Game 2: Seattle 8 Toronto 6 Game 3: Toronto 4 Seattle 10 Series MVP: Craig Reynolds .358 Avg 2 HR's 6 RBI
Game 3 saw Toronto fighting for its tournament life and starting Jim Clancy. Clancy could not stop the hot Seattle offense as Seattle plated 5 runs in the first 5 innings. Toronto also added 3 runs in the fifth aided by John Mayberry's homer to right. The big blow came when Craig Reynolds launched his second homer of the series in the 6th. The 3 run shot put the game out of reach and the Mariners into the next round where they will match up with the 16 seed Montreal Expos. Those two teams will play to see who will play in the sweet sixteen round. Final Score: Mariners 10, Blue Jays 4 WP: Jim Colborn (1-0) LP: Jim Clancy (0-1) HR's: Toronto - John Mayberry (1) Seattle - Craig…
Game 2 with the Mariners was a wild one as both teams brought the bats and combined for 30 hits. Unfortunately for Toronto, Seattle scored 8 of the 14 runs and they are now down 2 games to 0. Game started with fireworks as Seattle put a 6 spot on the board in the second, highlighted by homers from Dan Meyer and Craig Reynolds. The Blue Jays fought back with 3 in the bottom half including a homer by Horton and a RBI by Andy Ashby. The Jays pulled to within a run in the bottom of the fifth but the Mariners added an insurance run in the 8th to take the game 8-6. Seattle now leads the series 2-0, as we head back to Seattle for Game 3. Final…
The Mariners and the Blue Jays start off this tournament with Game 1 of their best of 5 play in series. Seattle had a record of 56-104 and Toronto came in with a 59-102 record. Both teams where expansion teams just getting started. Game 1 feature Seattle starter Paul Mitchell (8-14 4.18 Grade 4) vs. Toronto starter Jesse Jefferson (7-16 4.38 Grade 5) Believe it or not this was a pitchers duel until the 7th inning when the Mariners cut loose with 5 runs including RBI's from Doc Roberts and Bruce Bochte. That was more than enough for starter Paul Mitchell as he got a grade advancement and never looked back and threw a 2 hit shoutout. Toronto's offense will need to get going in this short series. Final Score:…

Congratulations to Tim Raines on his enshrinement to the Baseball Hall of Fame. This replay project will cover the prime of his career from when took the league by storm back in 1981. Tim had 71 steals in 88 games in the strike shortened 1981 season!! How many would he have had if they played 162? Well we will find out in the 1981 replay. No player/owner strikes in this project. This is 2 of his best APBA cards his 1986 card on the left and the 1983 card on the right. Congrats to Jeff Bagwell and Pudge Rodriguez as well.
Welcome, this site is going to be the home base of our APBA Replay project. We will replay baseball seasons, playoffs, have tournaments, famous game replays, etc. Basically anything goes. The primary focus will be seasons 1978-1987 (the seasons of my youth) and I will use the master game edition with the physical cards. I roll all games with dice and stat sheets....old school. I know this is a massive undertaking with tons of games to play, stats to collate, and updates to the site to come. That is what should make this journey great. The first project that I will roll is the 1978 tournament. I have seeded all teams from 26 down to 1, with the powerhouse Yankees and Red Sox coming in at #1 and #2 respectively.…
